Frequently Asked Questions

I´m going to be moving house. What should I do?

You can read your meter yourself and contact us to tell us the reading. We can be reached on tel. +45 9931 9445, by e-mail at kundecentret@aalborg.dk
or on our self service pages her at www.forsyning.dk (Selvbetjening) One of our meter readers can also read your meter, for a fee. If you would like to use this service, please contact us on +45 9931 9445 for more details. We request that you do this one week before you move out.

I´ve moved house, but I´ve still been billed for the services used. Why is that? This may indicate that you have not told the Public Utility Department that you have moved. Contact our customer centre on tel. +45 9931 9445.
I´ve overpaid and I want a refund from you. How do I get this money? The money will be transferred to your NemKonto account within 25 working days of receipt of your statement from us.
What is my payment on account based on? The anticipated number of units is estimated on the basis of your last known consumption.
How often will I receive bills from you for what I´ve used? Generally, our private customers receive calculated bills from us once a quarter. You will receive an annual statement once a year which shows what you have used.
How do I resister my bill with Betalingsservice? To register your bill with Betalingsservice, you either need to contact your bank, which can help you with this, or else you can register via your online bank.
I´ve just read my meter in connection with my annual reading. When will I receive my statement? Your statement will arrive sometime over the next six weeks.
I´ve just read my meter in connection with moving house. When will I receive my final statement? Your final statement will arrive within two weeks.
Am I able to buy electricity elsewhere, and if so how do I find out what prices other companies are charging? You can buy electricity from other electricity suppliers. www.elpristavlen.dk shows you the prices available.
I´m buying my electricity from another utility company. Why am I still receiving electricty bills from the Public Utility Department? Even if you have opted to buy your electricity from a different utility company, you will still receive a bill from us as the Public Utility Department cable network is used to transmit the power to you. Therefore, you are paying for a grid service; this charge relates to the operation and maintenance of the cable network and various electricity charges.
I think my electricity consumption is higher than it should be. How can I find out why I´m using so mush electricty? You can borrow a metering device form Energicenter Aalborg, Østerbro 9 or Elforsyningen, Hjulmagervej 22. This device can help you to find out which appliances are “guzzling” the most power.
